The package arrived within the time frame listed. The bags look like they are tough, they are well put together, easy to fill and hang, and the horses had no problem eating from them. Although I don't think the slow feed hay nets slow my horses down much, at least there is very little wasted hay. I am hopeful that these will last longer than the previous nets I have purchased.

I forgot to add that I used the large snaps to help close the sides of the flaps. The Velcro worked for a few times until it got full of debris and would not stick any more...

I purchased and used this bag for the cold weather months. It worked out really nice! I turned my hay bale up on an end and then worked the bag over it, turned the bag upright and then cut the strings and took off the flakes that did not fit into the bag. This bag holds at least 3/4 of a bale. I was able to hang this bag also with very large snaps, I never put it on the ground, I figured the horses would have hoofed it to death!... I hung smaller bags out with this and it worked out perfectly. This bag was also very easy to lace.

My mare destroyed her hay net in 3 weeks, I cannot see any damage to the Derby Natural Grazer Slow Feed Hay Bag yet! I love going out to the barn and seeing our mares resting outside with half full hay bags inside! No more Hangry horses!! Instead of gobbling up all the hay twice a day, they GRAZE all day like they are supposed to do. And filling it is so much easier than filling a net! I stand a square bale on end and slip the Derby Natural Grazer Slow Feed Hay Bag over the bale. Buying 2 more for the other 2 mares! LOVE IT!!

This bag is working well to slow down the horses' eating. I believe they are happier now that their hay lasts all day. The only problem is that this hay bag takes quite a while to open and re-close every day. It depends on weaving a rope through the webbing to shut the bag and it takes a while to unweave it after the horses have savaged it for a day. Then it takes some time to re-weave it closed again after filling, because it must be tightly closed with no holes left for horsey mouths. Next hay bag I buy I will be looking for a quicker closure.

LOVE this hay bag! Easy to fill, holds 2 flakes from a large 3'x4' square bale. My horse uses it without frustration but his feed lasts all day! And NO waste!

I've been very pleased so far with this slow feeder. I'd give this 4.5 stars if I could. It is sturdy and well made with tight stitching and holds between 2/3 and 3/4 bale of hay, which, for my horses, is at least four meals. A full bale would be too cumbersome for me to handle. Filling is easy – just slide the bag over a vertically standing bale of hay, flip over, cut and remove the baling twine, and take out however many flakes won't fit. The closing mechanism is ingenious – several alternating 2" long loops that line up to interlock the top flaps and are held together by a thick cord running through. The only (minor) drawback is the two open ends left after the top flaps are secured, which I remedy by lashing closed with baling twine. My horses would quickly learn to eat out of the open ends, defeating the purpose of a slow feeder. The holes are 2" square – small enough to slow their eating, but large enough to not be frustrating. There is a handle on the short end and two handles on a long side. I have one in black and one in royal blue for my two horses; my friend has a purple one for her horse. I'll probably buy two more in the future so I'll always have a full bag ready to feed. These certainly speed up my feeding chores
